And we are inside at Black Sunday Tattoo. How many tattoos do you have?
A lot. One, will just say one.
They’re awesome. I think that rose is my favorite. How many tattoo artists do you have here?
We have eight.
And do people call ahead to make the appointment, correct? Or do you need–
Most of the time, yes. We can do walk-ins but it just depends on if we have an artist available which is very rare. Most people book their appointments.
Do people, when they come in to get the tattoo do they know what they want or do they–
Most of the time.
Yes.
Yes. Most of the time they know what they want and then, but they can’t really put it together so they find the artist for them to put it together.
That’s awesome.
And some tattoos have to have a couple of different settings, right?
Yes. A hundred percent. If it’s a bigger piece, if it’s gonna be a six to eight hour piece, you don’t want to sit for that long and most artists don’t want to sit for that long tattooing it, so they’ll do a couple different sessions on it.
Awesome. How long has Black Sunday Tattoo been here? We’ve been open since 2011.
Awesome. And you’ve been here?
Yes.
This used to be a salon.
This used to be this used to be Diamond Doll Salon which I was the owner of. And then I sold that to my girls and took over just running the businesses and then a year ago started tattooing myself.
What do you specialize in?
I specialize in floral, the black or gray floral.
Awesome. What do other people specialize in that you have here?
We have traditional artists, we have neo traditional artists. Andy Westman, who is my husband, he specializes in realism, black and gray realism.
Local businesses are really, really important to our economy and we need them here for all of us to survive. So when you spend your money locally it stays in our community. So that’s something we wanna highlight our businesses here. So thank you for joining us today.
