Best Places to Get Coffee in Douglas, WY
Alisha: “If you’re moving to Douglas, one of the first questions you’ll probably ask is: where do I get my morning coffee?”
Kaitlin: “Coffee is my love language and as your Douglas local and caffeine enthusiast, I’ve got you covered. My favorite drink is brown sugar shaking espresso, tell me in the comments what is your go-to order? I love trying new and different recipes. (Now I’m kinda bougie when it comes to coffee, and I LOVE to make my own at home but, I do love treating myself to having someone else make it and sit at a coffee shop every once in a while.) So with that being said, Alisha and I are going to take you to some of our favorite coffee shops around Douglas, Wyoming today! These are must-try coffee spots, I promise you are going to fall in love with just like we did!”
Alisha: “If you’re new here, we post every Friday at 4PM Mountain Standard Time – whether you’re relocating from across the state or across the country, we’ve got you covered with what to expect.
Kaitlin: “So let’s spill the beans, literally, on my favorite coffee shops in Douglas.”
Number 1: Sips Coffee Company. (Kaitlin)
Sips Coffee Company is one of those spots that makes you feel like a regular from the moment you pull up. With over six locations across Wyoming—and I believe still growing—it’s become a statewide favorite, but here in Douglas it has that small-town charm we love. Their menu is huge, and they’re always getting creative with seasonal drinks—think caramel apple lattes in the fall and something pepperminty and festive at Christmas.
One of the best parts about Sips is that it’s owned by a Wyoming native, and they’re constantly giving back to the communities they serve. In Douglas, you’ll see them supporting local fundraisers, offering discounts for teachers, veterans, and seniors, and just showing up in ways that make a real difference. So every time I grab my coffee, I know I’m not just getting a delicious drink—I’m also supporting a business that pours right back into our town.
In short, Sips hits that perfect balance: friendly, personal, and always a good start to the day. You can find Sips in other Wyoming towns, but it still feels like a true Douglas staple.
Number 2: Blend Coffee & Co (Alisha)
Blend is so much more than a coffee shop—it’s a true community hub. This is the place where you can’t help but run into friends, neighbors, or coworkers while you’re waiting in line. The coffee is fantastic, but what really sets Blend apart is the way it’s become a gathering space for Douglas. You can bring your laptop and work for a bit, meet a client, or just sit and catch up with whoever happens to walk through the door.
And let’s be real—the food is just as big of a draw. Their dilly toast and the loaded waffles topped with yogurt and berries are local legends, while heartier options like the Bronx Bomber sandwich or the breakfast burrito are staples that regulars rave about. Whether you’re craving something light and fresh or a savory plate to fuel your day, the menu makes it easy to find a new favorite.
Inside, they’ve also made it a point to support local artists and makers, with shelves full of gifts, handmade items, and fun little knick-knacks to browse while you wait for your drink. It’s the perfect reflection of what Douglas is all about—connection, creativity, and community. You walk in for the caffeine, but you usually leave with a smile and a conversation too.
Number 3: Mocha Molly’s (Kaitlin)
Mocha Molly’s is practically a Douglas institution. It’s been around for years, and for so many locals, it was the very first coffee shop they ever experienced. People still talk about grabbing their first latte—or a colorful Italian soda—as teenagers. The drinks are solid, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it just has that ‘feels like home’ energy.
What makes it even more unique is its location inside Memorial Hospital of Converse County. Honestly, our hospital is one of the best in the state, so it feels fitting that a community staple like Mocha Molly’s is right there at the heart of it all.
On top of serving great drinks, they also partner with the Stella Beard Infusion Center, giving patients the opportunity to enjoy a comforting coffee or soda “on the community” while receiving their treatments. It’s one of those small but powerful acts of kindness that shows how deeply Mocha Molly’s is woven into Douglas life. Donations for that program are welcomed year-round, and it’s just another reminder that this little shop is about so much more than coffee—it’s about caring for neighbors.
It’s hard to imagine Douglas coffee culture without mentioning Molly’s—it’s truly part of the fabric of our town.
Number 4: The Whistle Stop (Alisha)
The whistle stop is unique because it combines coffee with rich douglas history. It’s been a Staple here for over 30 years, and right when you walk in you can feel the nostalgia. They have just about everything including amazing coffee – they also have a delicious lunch menu in the afternoons, a huge library of books, and other adorable gifts and knickknacks that would make perfect gifts for birthdays, holidays, any special occasion!
This location makes it the perfect spot for sitting down with a good book, or meeting with a client. When you come here, you’re bound to run into a 30+ year regular or someone who can tell you all about how the sidewalks used to be heated from a power company who previously owned the building.
It’s the kind of place where a coffee break turns into a conversation about “remember when” stories from long-time locals, or a chance to share Douglas’s past with friends and family who are visiting. Their beverage menu offers all the classics — from rich mochas to sweet blended drinks — and it’s a fun stop for kids too because of the unique setting. Many people say it’s their go-to when they want a coffee run to feel like an experience rather than just a quick grab-and-go.
Whether you’re a history buff, a first-time visitor, or just someone who appreciates a good cup of coffee in a serene setting, the Whistle Stop brings something truly special to Douglas’s coffee scene.
Number 5: Starbucks (Kaitlin)
Now, I can’t forget to mention the Starbucks—yes, Douglas does have one, but it’s inside Safeway. It’s not your traditional stand-alone Starbucks experience, but it does the job when you want your go-to order or need the convenience of mobile pickup. Honestly, it’s kind of nice to know that even in a small town, you can still grab your vanilla sweet cream cold brew or pumpkin spice latte when the season rolls around. It’s familiar, it’s reliable, and sometimes that’s exactly what you’re looking for. Plus, it makes grocery shopping a little more fun when you can sip on a latte while you’re wandering the aisles. And for those road-trip mornings or busy days when you’re short on time, having that quick Starbucks fix right in town definitely comes in handy.
Number 6: RIP Kody Ray’s (Alisha & Kaitlin?)
And we have to give a little love to a Douglas classic that’s no longer with us—Kody Ray’s.
Kaitlin – If you lived here when it was open, you know it was the place to be for coffee and a donut on a Sunday. People still talk about it, and it kind of has this legendary status in town.
Alisha – Some joke about it anytime a new coffee place opens, someone will say, ‘Well, it’s not Kody Ray’s, but…’
Kaitlin – It just shows how coffee shops here become part of the town’s fabric—when one closes, it leaves a mark.”
Outro (Kaitlin + Alisha):
Alisha: “So there you have it, some of our favorite coffee shops—Douglas may not have a coffee shop on every corner, but the ones we do have are full of personality and community.”
