Are you a music lover? Are you someone who just loves to get outside and enjoy the summertime while listening to your favorite tunes? Maybe you don’t even care who the music artist is, and you just love to hear some live music. Hi, I’m Alisha Collins with RE/MAX The Group and the Alisha Collins Real Estate Team, and I am super excited to tell you about all the exciting concerts coming to Casper, Wyoming this summer.
If you love live music, Casper is the place to be this summer. First off, I’d like to tell you a little bit about Casper’s summertime hotspot. We’ve got quite a few.
David Street Station, which is where I am now, is located in the heart of downtown Casper. Casper celebrated the grand opening of Dave Street Station back in 2017, and we’ve been enjoying amazing events here ever since. Locals gather all throughout the summer for many different and exciting events. There are many concerts and Wyoming’s very own Chancey Williams and The Younger Brothers Band is known to frequent this stage. During the month of August, David Street Station is bringing in another Wyoming legend, Ian Munsick. But it’s not just the rich and famous, local artists and even kids from the community come to perform here. Isn’t that so cool? But music isn’t the only thing that David Street Station is known for. You can also find Casper’s yogis spread out on this beautiful green lawn throughout the summer for summer yoga, the Wellness Wednesday events. You can find yourself shopping for local treasures during the WCDA summer market that happens at the station every other Tuesday. There you will find locally made merchandise, and hometown made, and homegrown goodies, as well as food trucks, craft beer, and local music. Do you love movies? How about outdoor movies? If so, you’re in luck because the Station houses the Cinema at the Station on Friday evenings throughout the summer. Looking for a place to hang out on those warm summer days? Maybe a new place to meet up with colleagues for lunch? Or maybe even a place to just relax and play?
Right around the corner from David Street Station, the The Gaslight Social has the perfect atmosphere for whatever you need. Serving counter style burritos from Bohemian Burrito, 37 beers on draft, arcade games, golf simulators, and a great outdoor space. You won’t run out of things to eat, drink, or do. Not only can you stop by for a bite or a cold beer, you can also hang out and play games, but they also offer an exciting summer series that’s sure to excite the music lover inside you. The rest of the summer is just full of exciting artists from Blue Oyster Cult, Buckcherry, and even Hairball. Make sure to check out their website for all the upcoming concerts because I do not think that you’re going to wanna miss out.
It’s been really fun to watch as our concert scene here in Casper has grown over the last few years. Our community has been able to attract some big names and it’s made for some really fun nights here in our hometown.
Speaking of fun nights or even fun days, have you heard about the Beartrap Summer Festival? It’s been happening for decades, and it just gets better and better every year. This year features music from Asia and Jo Dee Messina. But it’s not just music you’ll find in the beautiful Beartrap meadow during the festival, you’ll also find amazing vendors both selling their merchandise and delicious food. You will be sure to witness satisfied people walking around with a giant Turkey leg. Lots of Casperites have great memories from visiting the festival as a kid, and they are full of fun and laughter and Turkey legs.
If you know anything about Wyoming, you probably know that Casper houses the biggest concert stage in the state, and of course, that’s the Ford Wyoming Center, formally known as the Casper Events Center. This stage attracts big names not just over the summer but throughout their year as well. Concerts that coming up are really exciting. Like, hello? Has anyone heard of Cody Johnson? Yes, he’s coming in September, and he’s bringing some friends too. Maybe you’re someone who isn’t totally into live music, but you might love comedy. Well, guess what? We have that too. Like, big name comedians, I hope I’m saying this right, hilarious Nate Bargatze that is coming in October. Do you know him?
If not, you should really look him up. He is hysterical. There’s this really neat little place in downtown Casper called the Bourgeois Pig. They serve yummy food and also live music. Coming this weekend is MJ Bailey, the one man band, performing rock roots, blues, and soul, and it’s all live. I might just check it out myself. Sounds fun.
Wednesday Night Live is happening in the Taproom this summer at Gruner Brothers Brewing: live music every Wednesday night. You can check out the full lineup on their Facebook page under Facebook events and RSVP to your favorites to get a reminder as they approach.
I think most people are so happy to have live music and hanging out back, aren’t you? It’s been a rough couple years for the gig industry, and I love every opportunity to support these local artists, and the ones that come in to town. For me, music is more than just listening to songs. Music is a vehicle that takes me all over to the past, to dreaming about the future, to a state of relaxation and can even have the power to pump me up. A song can be magical. I mean, how many times have you been transported to another place in your mind just by hearing a certain song on the radio? Magic I tell ya. Of course that’s not all that we have upcoming in our amazing town, but it’s a good start. I am so proud of where I live for so many reasons, and one of those is all that you can find here.
There is rarely an evening that doesn’t have something going on. I hope you get to check it out here. Check out the local hotspots and hangouts, and just enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer. It goes by so fast, but there’s a lot of time left to make some great memories. Thank you so much for tuning into our videos. We love each and every one of you that call us. We have time for you, and we’d love to help you find the home of your dreams. Remember, we want you to love where you live. See you soon.
