The property, which is called the Monster Lake Ranch or Yeezy campus, spans over 4,500 acres. This sprawling ranch featured eight lodging units, a horse barn and corral, a restaurant, and even boasted an event center and a go-kart track when the rapper purchased it according to Fox Business. The 4,500 plus acre property has panoramic views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains and is just 52 miles from Yellowstone National Park. The couple reportedly fell in love with Wyoming’s natural beauty and peaceful way of life, and West has stated that he finds inspiration in the state’s wide open spaces. The couple and their children had been known to spend time on the ranch and in the surrounding areas, going on hikes, horseback riding, and enjoying the outdoors. They were also spotted in various Wyoming towns and cities including Jackson Hole and Cody where they were seen shopping, dining, and attending local events. You may have heard that this property was briefly listed for sale but was not sold, and has been taken off the market for the time being. Three months after West purchased the Cody ranch, he made another investment in the cowboy state, picking up a second even larger 6,700 plus acre ranch in Grayville, a town about 50 miles away from Cody for $14 million.
In more recent events let’s talk about Jeffrey Starr. If you don’t know who Jeffrey is, let me fill you in. Jeffrey Starr is a super popular American makeup artist, entrepreneur, influencer, and internet personality known for telling the world exactly what he thinks, giving very honest makeup reviews and other opinions on his many social media platforms. If you haven’t watched him you need to because he is informative and hysterical. In 2020, he announced that he had moved from California to Casper, Wyoming. The move was somewhat unexpected as Starr had been living in California for many years and had built a successful career there. However, he explained that he was looking for a change of pace and a quieter, more peaceful lifestyle. Wyoming is known for its natural beauty and peaceful wide open spaces, which may very well have appealed to Starr. Since moving to Wyoming Starr has continued to work on his various business ventures including his cosmetic line, Jeffrey Starr Cosmetics. He’s even working on opening a store right here in our little town of Casper. Oh yeah. He also started a yak ranch here in Casper and sells his yak meat locally. I think I just saw the other day that he added some camels to his animal lineup. Starr has also continued to be very active on social media sharing photos and videos of his surroundings and his daily life. If you’re in Casper or are local, you might spot him driving around town in one of his notorious pink vehicles. They’re super pretty. I hear he even has a custom skid steer that he made his signature pink. Jeffrey Starr has been super involved in our community and has helped a lot of different nonprofits as well as being involved in community events.
It is never a surprise to me when someone wants to make Wyoming their home and although it does seem to make some locals a little nervous when famous people move in, I say come find out why we all love it here.
